Barbara Gavranović – Production Planning Manager in AvioCATS
Barbara graduated from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture (FMENA) and obtained the title Master of Aeronautical Engineering. After graduation she started working as a research assistant at FMENA’s Department of Quality.
A year later she continued her career as a System Engineer with Croatia Airlines where she worked with aircraft systems on Airbus A320 family and Bombardier DHC8-Q400 fleet. Her responsibilities included issuance of engineering orders, repair orders, defects and troubleshooting, and liaising with manufacturers and vendors. As Structure and Interior Engineer she dealt with technical documentation, Airworthiness Directives and Service Bulletin evaluation embodiment and recording.
At her last position in Croatia Airlines as Planning and Maintenance Control Engineer, she was responsible for control of continued airworthiness; planning, performing and controlling of scheduled and unscheduled maintenance tasks; monitoring and follow-up of the maintenance plan realization. Her most important role was to determine priorities in AOG situations.
In June 2014 she became a member of the AvioCATS team, continuing her work in aviation as Production Planning Manager. She completed a number of specialized aviation training.
Omer Pita – dipl.ing. – AvioCATS Associate Partner
Mr. Pita has graduated on Zagreb University, Faculty of Transport Engineering and has been working in aviation industry since 1984. His field of expertise is aircraft maintenance and engineering, quality/compliance management in aviation and civil aviation authority management. During his career he has held following management positions in aviation: Manager Material Planning, Manager Production Planning, Quality Manager in Maintenance, Director Aircraft Maintenance and Director of Croatian Civil Aviation Agency, President of Croatian National Safety Board. He has following additional experience/expertise: EOQ Quality Manager, EOQ Quality Auditor, DGR Instructor, Head of Aircraft Maintenance Study and lecturer at University of Applied Sciences Velika Gorica. During his 30+ years long career he has been involved in many projects such as: setting up and starting up engineering and maintenance activities in Croatia Airlines; organising logistics support to maintenance; aircraft purchasing, leasing and sales; aircraft acceptance inspections; development of Part M compliant airworthiness review procedures; development of Part M/Part145 exposition manuals; Part M/145 certification; aircraft maintenance hangar construction project management; development of MRO activities in Croatia Airlines; initial setup, start up and management of Croatian Civil Aviation Authority, establishment of Aircraft Maintenance Study at University of Applied Sciences Velika Gorica, EU Twinning Project management to support CAA of the Republic of Georgia.
Marko Marunić – Senior Aviation Expert & AvioCATS Compliance Auditor
Marko graduated from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture (FMENA), University of Zagreb, in 1996. He worked in various positions at Croatia Airlines from 1996 to 2004. As Engineering Manager and QA Manager, he was head of two important departments. . After Croatia Airlines, he participated in the founding of Dubrovnik Airline, a Croatian charter company, where he stayed until 2012. Working for Lufthansa Consulting and Aviation Quality Services (a business unit of Lufthansa Airline), he gained experience in various fields of aviation. Marko is a licensed instructor working for International Air Transport Association.
Marko completed a number of specialized aviation courses, to mention just a few: University of Luton; Rolls Royce Training Centre, Derby, UK, IATA Training & Development Institute, Geneva Training Centre, Auditing and IOSA program, Quality Management in Airline Operations, Weyvern Aviation Safety Intelligence etc.
Ozren Vranješ – System Engineer
In December 2014 Ozren graduated from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture (FMENA), University of Zagreb, and obtained the title of Master of Aeronautical Engineering. The title of his master’s thesis was “The Analysis of Longitudinal Static and Dynamic Stability for Commuter Floatplane”. In 2009 he completed his one-month internship at Croatia Airlines, with Branimir as his mentor. In March 2015 he became member of AvioCATS team . His current job consists of issuing work orders and work packages for routine and non-routine tasks, Airworthiness Directives and Service Bulletins, assessing, recording and updating the status of EASA Airworthiness Directives, keeping track of the maintenance forecast etc. Also, Ozren was the company representative during maintenance works on the Airbus A320 aircraft. He kept track of cabin reconfiguration and seats replacement in particular. He would like to continue his professional development in this company.
Tomislav Kovačević – Maintenance Control Center Manager
Tomislav is B2 Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (Electrics & Avionics). After he finished Air Technic School of Rudolf Peresin in Zagreb, Croatia he endorsed EASA Part 66 B2 license type for A320 family CFM56 & V2500, A330 with RR TRENT 700, GE CF6 & PW4000, A340 with CFM56 & RR TRENT 500. Also he is current in all required trainings (Human factors, EWIS, regulation, FTS etc.)
He has ample experience from well-known MRO organisations like Lufthansa Technic Malta, Adria Airways Technic, Zagreb Traffic Institute, Shannon Aerospace etc.
Projects about which Tomislav is particularly proud are: managing A320 narrow body line Avionics team, ensuring continuous flow of work, managing A330/A340 wide body Cabin retrofit mod and Passenger seat retrofit mod teams, implementing Lufthansa 6-to-One principles and processes on a workstation level.
Currently Tomislav is responsible for all operational support to customer’s aircraft providing MCC & logistic and 24/7 AOG support.
Anton Kirinić – Senior Aviation Expert & AvioCATS Avionic and MEL expert
Anton gained B.Sc. degree on Faculty of Electrical Engineering in Zagreb, within profile of Telecommunication technology.
Started to work in avionics manufacturing, continued in Military MRO where he specialized in a department of autopilot equipment engineering, including its adjustment during
test flights and design of dedicated test equipment.
From 1992. to 2016. was employed with flag carrier operator ‘Croatia Airlines’, working in a field of avionics maintenance engineering for Boeing 737, ATR-42, Airbus A320, DHC-8-400 fleet.
The equipment covered was within the scope of ATA chapters 22, 23, 24, 31, 33, 34, 35, 45, 46, 92.
Was responsible for follow-up of regulatory requirements, preparation & implementation of mandated modifications like: GPS introduction, VHF 8.33kHz, Nav/Comm FM Immunity, TCAS II, qualification for RVSM operations, EGPWS introduction, ATC xpdr Mode-S installation and coding, portable ELT installation and coding, introduction of VDL2/CPDLC.
Was responsible for the ACARS usage related issues, and the FDR related procedures.
Was responsible for development and keeping continuous revisions of MEL for all the mentioned aircraft types.
B. Sc. (Mechanical Engineering, FSB Zagreb, Croatia) and MBA (ZSEM/AACSB, Zagreb, Croatia). Branimir is co-founder and AvioCATS CAMO Post Holder. During 18 years of experience in aviation he completed a number of specialized aviation trainings. He started his career at Croatia Airlines as a system engineer and thereafter moved on to other departments in managerial positions. He worked with aircraft systems, structure and power plant. He was Manager Airframe and Power plant Engineer and Engineering Department Manager. His last post was Director of Engineering where he managed the airline’s greatest value, human potential. He is an expert in aircraft asset management with experience in the sale of turboprop fleet, spare engines and components, aircraft purchase, aircraft sale and lease back, engine sale and lease back, return of various aircraft after long-term lease, accepting aircraft, and purchase of BFE & SFE Equipment. He is also a qualified QA Lead Auditor and qualified EASA 147 training instructor. He lectures at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture in Zagreb.
Ratimir Čular – Owner and Quality and Safety Manager of AvioCATS
Ratimir graduated from the University of Zagreb, Croatia, with a major in mechanical engineering. His 18 years long career in aviation began by joining the engineering team at Croatia Airlines. He continued his career in airlines’ technical management as engineering manager at Air Adriatic, Croatia, and as nominated post holder of Part M and Part 145 organizations at Belle Air, Albania, and Trade Air, Croatia. During that period he was also involved in various worldwide projects as technical consultant in aircraft maintenance business and airline quality systems. In July 2013 he co-founded AvioCATS (as a brand name of Avio Group Ltd), a Continuing Airworthiness Management Organisation (CAMO) in Zagreb, Croatia.
Since Alen graduated in aeronautical engineering from the Politecnico di Milano, Italy, Alen has been active in aviation maintenance for almost 20 years. He started his career in aviation as a young engineer in Croatia Airlines where he later held the position of Line Maintenance Manager and Director of Maintenance. In 2011 he became Croatia Airlines Vice President for Engineering and Maintenance. He was post holder for Part 145, Part M and Part 147. In July 2013 he co-founded AvioCATS (as a brand name of Avio Group Ltd) a Continuing Airworthiness Management Organisation (CAMO) in Zagreb, Croatia.
